I believe it is possible to delete actual applied updates using a tool within the Windows Uninstall display. I'm not sure I can help you on trying to remove "Windows Updates" nor why it added 500MB to your C: drive but the Windows Update Cleanup there is what's left over from stuff deleted etc in doing the updates and not the updates themselves. I try to remove windows updates and it actually added like 500MB onto my C drive instead of removing like 3gb of updates and some MBs of other stuff. Very similar to my own setup except my 7 his Home Premium. If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful.Īnd of course as I said, what is the cleanup tool you are using - there's one in Windows itself one of the older Norton products may have had a cleanup feature and there are a number of third party products some of which are reliable and too many are either unsafe or snake oil.
